Good evening, everybody – today we served a total of 23 families, including 47 adults, 31 children and 11 seniors. We served 89 people today.
We had a great time at the Irvington Farmers’ Market. It’s a popular, busy market, and the shoppers were generous to the pantry. We even met a woman whose teenage son may be able to help us, at least at the CSA on Sundays.
Our beloved artist, Stephanie Buck, will be away on vacation now until September. Our clients will miss her dearly. She was kind enough to bring food and drink for our clients as a goodbye until next month.
We received the food collected by Cabrini of Westchester, and what a lot of food there was. Susan Herceg is the social worker at Cabrini who arranged this food drive, and she did a wonderful job. We received bags and bags of food from Cabrini, and we started giving it out right away. Susan says they’re planning on doing another food drive for us around the holidays, in honor of Mother Cabrini.
