Had a long talk with Susie Zachman, who runs a nonprofit by the name of Better Beginnings. Its aim is to improve child health through diet. She’s going to visit the pantry in April to meet our clients and give a little information about what she does and how it can help people improve their children’s nutrition. It’s not just educational but behavioral. She offers a six-week program, educating parents about how to find ways to help their children eat better. We’ll see if some of our clients will be interested in taking her class, maybe for an hour before the pantry opens. And it’s free of charge! She’s got a great website at http://www.beginbetter.org and a BeginBetter Facebook page also. Thanks to our own Jen Cadenhead for getting Susie and us at the pantry together.
