November is the month of gratitude and we at the Dobbs Ferry Food Pantry are so very grateful for our generous community. This month we saw an abundance of donations of food, money and time. We couldn’t do it without you!
The high school has been especially generous this month. Thank you to the International Club and the Hands-In Club for their food drives, and to the PTSA for the annual Thanksgiving pie drive. A gazillion thanks to high schoolers Anshuman, Daniel, Gabby, Gigi, and Hazel for packing boxes of food, and to Ellie, Emily, Enye, Jake, Lindsay, Mira, Stephanie and Tallulah, shown below, for painting the manse where we store much of our inventory.

The Dobbs Ferry PTSA pie drive ensured that our clients had delicious pies this Thanksgiving. A big thanks to the PTSA, and a special shout-out to Candace Treglia, PTSA treasurer, and her husband, Antonio Treglia.

We are also grateful to Caleb for his generosity. He asked his friends and family to donate to the pantry instead
of receiving gifts for his 10th birthday. Caleb, you are awesome! He is shown here with his mom, Ria, and his
brother, Grayson.
Speaking of awesome, many thanks to Ardsley United Methodist, Cabrini, Community Nursery, Days of Wonder, the First Unitarian Society of Westchester, the South Presbyterian Church School and Zion Church for hosting food drives. Our clients appreciate the variety of good food that you provided for them.

And to the many people who donate via PayPal, know that your contributions help us offer healthy, free food to our neighbors. Prices of food, gas and other necessities have continued to rise, and that means that two to three new families each week join our roster. Thanks to your generous donations, we’re able to serve more than 100 families from the Rivertowns every week.
As for the wonderful volunteers who show up week in and week out, in rain, snow and sleet to get these donations into the hands of those who need it most, here’s what a client recently said: “The quantity of food we get weekly is great, but the quality of the people who work here makes the whole experience wonderful.”
You can’t put a price tag on that.

Happy holidays to our wonderful donors and our neighbors!
