Gettin’ by with Some Help from Our Friends
Pantry volunteers love it when people in the community drop off donations of food and diapers on Wednesday mornings and take a minute to introduce themselves. Volunteers meet the most wonderful people while providing food for our neighbors in need.
We’d like to meet more of our supporters. That’s why we’re teaming up with local businesses and bands so that we can hang out, hear great music and raise money and food for the pantry. Here’s a look at upcoming fundraisers. Come join us!
HudCo Presents: Armo
Saturday August 2, 6 – 11 p.m.
HudCo Presents is a new concert series at 145 Palisade Street in Dobbs Ferry. If you haven’t seen Armo perform live in the city, now’s your chance. Their music features classic and contemporary Afrobeat.
Doors open at 6 p.m., so does the bar, and please stop by the Dobbs Ferry Food Pantry table and meet the crew. HudCo is hosting a food drive for the pantry, so bring nonperishable food or donate cash. Music starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 for HudCo members, $20 for the general public and $25 at the door. You must be 18 or older to attend.
Hudson Social featuring The Hendersons
Sunday August 17, 1- 4 p.m
This popular restaurant and bar is hosting a fundraiser for the pantry featuring The Hendersons, a terrific local band who are donating their time and talent. Come hear them play country, British Invasion and classic rock, and meet friends old and new.

Greetings from Anywhere
Sunday September 14, 2 – 4 p.m.
Greetings from Anywhere musicians have long performed in the city and around the Hudson Valley, blending folk, blues, bluegrass and country into a roots-rock hybrid. We’re thrilled that they’re hosting a fundraiser for the pantry at South Presbyterian Church in Dobbs Ferry. This is a fantastic way to celebrate the end of summer. More details to follow.
Meanwhile, You Continue to Deliver!

Beatrice Dirksen and her father delivered four bags of food that the Hastings Farragut Middle School student collected as part of her community service project to support our pantry. Go Beatrice! And thank you to the children of the Greenburgh Hebrew Center who collected all the coins they could gather. Teacher Shelli Katz delivered their contribution in coin wrappers for quick deposit.
Finally, our thanks to the DFHS students who delivered their community service project to the pantry on a recent Wednesday morning. The group assembled 60 breakfast bags for our clients. A tip of the hat to Etien Dega, Emmett Kashner, Luke Conneely, Evan Schwartz, Sam Bass and James Pessin.

We’re all in this together. Pantry volunteers Suzy Barnett, Gene Hallacy and Andrew Smith thanked the DFHS students for their hard work and generosity, then worked to get the food to our neighbors who need it.
